Join us as we follow Maurice’s impressive journey at UNICOR! Over 10 years ago, Maurice started with us as an apprentice and has steadily advanced – from those early steps to becoming a project manager.

Now, he’s heading to the USA as a service technician to represent UNICOR there.

Learn more about his story, what motivates him, and his goals for the future:

What has been your career path at UNICOR so far?

I joined UNICOR in September 2013 as an apprentice industrial mechanic, completing my apprenticeship in 2017. After a year as a mechanic, I pursued further education at DAA Technikum and became a technician in 2022. I took on project management responsibilities even before completing my technician degree. Additionally, since my apprenticeship, I’ve been dispatched as a service technician worldwide at least once every year.

What motivated you to transition from your role in project management to a service technician in the USA?

I see this change as a tremendous opportunity for personal growth and to gather invaluable experiences. With support from Germany, I am confident that we can establish a robust service hub in the USA and effectively represent our company there.

How did your training with us prepare you for this new challenge?

During my training, I had the fortune of familiarizing myself with all departments of the company and actively contributing. As a project manager, I collaborated closely with all technical departments, which has left me feeling well-prepared and familiar with the mindset and workings at UNICOR.

What skills do you aim to further develop in your new role?

Primarily, I seek to enhance my strategic planning ability and communication skills to better assist our customers. Additionally, problem-solving skills are of paramount importance. Furthermore, I anticipate the need to develop leadership skills as we aim to expand and grow our hub.

What will you miss most when you say goodbye to UNICOR in Hassfurt?

I will miss the simplicity and security that came with collaborating with all departments. It was always reassuring to know that the right person to speak with was just a short distance away. Of course, I will also miss my colleagues.
